Europeans - Did you get your postcards from the EU fat cat elites and MEPs yet?

I'm not educated to how much money other European countries throw in to the EU coffers at the tax payers expense but I do know that the UK is paying in:

12.6 million day

3.6 billion a year (approx)

These are 2008 figures.

Yesterday the Daily Mail published an article highlighting that the EU are 'blowing' taxpayers money on sending MEPs and fat cat bereacrats aka 'The Elites' to 'the Seychelles and other paradise destinations'.

Last year the EU generously spent £230million on jollies to such places.

'A visit for seven MEPs to the Seychelles cost £50,000 in hotel and travel expenses...'

...'It found the amount spend on overseas trips even exceeded the humanitarian aid budget of £200million a year.'

After this story broke last night, 'A spokesman said: ‘It seems ridiculous that while we face the worst economic crisis in recent history, the EU continues to waste a phenomenal amount of taxpayers’ money on travel to exotic locations.'

This is absolutely scandulous. If you are wondering why our economy is screwed this is but one example of how it has happened.

It is time for the people of Europe to look at exactly what their taxes are going on and not to blindly trust what their governments are telling them. Governments have their own agendas just look at the UK expenses scandles, since when MPs have resigned and there are still pending court cases. This again was your money fellow Brits.

Use google and get interested in politics. Know who your MPs and MEPs are and write to them when you feel an injustice has been done at your expense. Ask them where your postcard is from there latest jollies!!!
