Email won't work with you: goes through the site and wouldn't work when site down. ;-) LLL's email does not go through site.

Re: Libya Rolling Updates Fri 25 Feb
the Daily Mail is in a particularly belligerent mood this morning:-
This column has little sympathy with British citizens who voluntarily take lucrative jobs in despotic trouble-spots run by megalomaniac gangsters and then scream for mummy when the shooting starts. Or their whingeing relatives back home. If they take the shilling, they should accept the risk.

From the White House press office
Readout of President Obama’s Calls with President Sarkozy of France, Prime Minister Cameron of the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Berlusconi of Italy
The President spoke today, in separate calls, with President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom, and Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi of Italy to continue consultations on the situation in Libya and coordinate our urgent efforts to respond to developments and ensure that there is appropriate accountability. The President expressed his deep concern with the Libyan government’s use of violence which violates international norms and every standard of human decency, and discussed appropriate and effective ways for the international community to immediately respond.
The leaders affirmed their strong support for the universal rights of the Libyan people, including the right to peaceful assembly, free speech, and the ability of the Libyan people to determine their own destiny and agreed that these rights must be respected. The leaders discussed the range of options that both the United States and European countries are preparing to hold the Libyan government accountable for its actions, as well as planning for humanitarian assistance. The leaders agreed to maintain close consultations on this issue going forward.

The South Koreans have just done a major leaflet drop into the North over the last couple of hours. The leaflets discuss Tunisia, Egypt and Libya and reminds the North Koreans that they too can overthrow their tyrant.

Re: Libya Rolling Updates Fri 25 Feb
However, Jeremy Hunt, the Culture Secretary, went further in appearing to confirm that the SAS was on stand-by.
Interviewed by Nick Ferrari on LBC radio, Mr Hunt said: "The most significant news is the SAS troops that are now ready to spring into action.
"They are obviously thinking very, very carefully about these 170 trapped oil workers and the issue now is how do we deal with people outside Tripoli rather than inside Tripoli."
Challenged about the lateness of the Government's response to the situation in Libya, Mr Hunt added: "The point I would make is, things like having SAS troops on stand-by aren't things that happen at the drop of the hat and these things have obviously been planned for days, if not weeks, and I think things are going to happen."
Asked whether he could foresee a time when British troops were deployed in Libya, he added: "Absolutely."
"But I don't want to speculate on that because the normal Foreign Office line rightly - because they don't want to compromise the operations - is that they don't rule anything in or rule anything out, but we wouldn't have SAS troops on stand-by if we weren't envisaging the possibility of having to use them."
