Yemen receives upgraded Huey II helicopters to fight terrorism

The Yemeni Air Force received four Bell Helicopter utility aircraft from the U.S. military, the American UPI news agency said.
The aircraft were upgraded Huey II helicopters along with spares and associated tools.....

thank you! There has been a lot of talk on a crackdown of extremists expected again there very soon. The US have been firing a lot of missiles from drones and the odd cruise missile from the sea and quickly denying it

I wish them all the best and happy hunting, BUT i think they are going to learn the hard way, that the Huey II helicopters are not well suited for their type of terrain, as the US learned in gulf war 1 these birds have one of the highest maintenance to flight hours ratio of all helicopters.Sand being the enemy of helicopters, this place is full of it.

This means the mechanics will have more work than the pilots. I would think that older prop driven drones would be a better choice with the type of operations they would be doing.
