Do you agree with games companies taking out exclusive licenses?
Exclusive licenses in sports games
What do people think about games companies getting exclusive licenses for sports games? EA sports seem to be the most infamous for it recently after getting the NFL license.
I think that it should be necessary to have any licenses really, (just make generic games with good customization tools) but if you have to then they shouldn't be exclusive.

Yea I don't think it should be exclusive as it's great having the real players in your team but you kinda stuck to the one game and if that's not great then it's tough kinda.
I play a lot of fifa and EA do have the rights for football/soccer too, everything it seems.

As far as I know, EA have the exclusive rights to the NFL, Most soccer leagues, NCAA Football and previously they had the exclusive rights to the Arena Football League. 2k Sports have exclusive license to MLB. The NBA license is the only one that is currently shared, although EA haven't released a game this year.

Well, that is one advantage of working in that industry (I'm studying a degree in Games Computing with the intent to do just that)
