I also have news from my husband John who works for a games company. A pile of family friendly games goes to the best photo that we all vote for as we celebrate! - Yes he will give a pile of new games absolutely free as part of the celebrations!
Lets have an LSN party!

Had they gotten violent who knows how it would have gone with the military.
BTW, I'm in for the sock thing, but most of mine have holes in the toes, so it won't be pretty.

With Social Networks and ability to have rapid communication, more dictators may find it harder and harder to keep a lid on an oppressed people.

I guess this is as good of a time as any to say hi. I'm Mike. I think a lot of the good that has happened in Egypt is due to brave and dedicated people such as you on the forums. Bringing the information to everyone who wants to see through the veil is a noble effort. I can't imagine how difficult it is for those of you who have had to suffer through the turmoil. My hat is off to all of you!

Re: Mubarak Steps Down
would be interesting to know WHEN the army started to take action
after State TV turned against? or before? or same time?
...maybe it really started with the 50 pro-mubarak army officers who were arrested by the people's army today..

Sorry to interrupt you , but janey you should know better.
They have been a Military dictatorship for 30 years and now they only change faces.
If , in the next 60 days , a state of war is declared, no democratical elections will take place.
And look at the wires , Israel is itching

? Israel SHOULD be itching. Funny, how this is always about poor poor Israel. Maybe if Bibi would take a moment, to sit down and STFU, and actually NEGOTIATE a REAL peace treaty with the Palestinians, he would hold better face with Egypt.
Maybe the Israeli people should think about overthrowing their government? Hrm? Food for thought.

I agree in that we do not know what the future holds for Egypt or any of us, but I am ever the optimist and am celebrating with these people as Janey and not as a journalist as people have died to achieve this. You are quite right, the journalist side of me doesnt know what is ahead, but my personal side supports any people fighting against oppression.

Re: Mubarak Steps Down
My congratulations to the people of Egypt in what they have accomplished without firing a single bullet. My condolences to the families of those who were lost in this historic struggle for freedom. Now in the times ahead may they continute to be steadfast and full of good wisdom as they try to create for themselves a democracy that respects the rule of all and the rights of all.
May God be with them all
