German president calls Gaddafi a "psychopath"

Berlin - German President Christian Wulff on Thursday called Libyan leader Moamer Gaddafi a 'psychopath.'

'He is terrorizing his own people,' said Wulff. 'It's terrorism by the state: That seems to be the approach, which you can call psychopathic.'

Wulff was speaking at the end of talks with visiting Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, who denied there had been any Italian veto on European Union sanctions against Gaddafi. He said Rome simply sought an integrated programme to support democracy in Arab nations.
