yeah me too..
wasn't sure a few minutes ago, if it was her.. but now i remember, I stumbled across her tweets in the beginning of the revolutions..

she is lebanese, living in canada/montreal..

don't nail me on that, but IIRC she retweeted some tweets without RT: and almost every rumour tweet
my first impression was: "yay, another great source on the ground".. the next one was more like "well..umm.no..not really, just a every-rumour-RTer which cant even do that correctly"

but as I said.. pleae don't nail me on that..could also be that those tweets originally came from her lol Very Happy

I may have stumbled across her, after starting to use Babsis Tip with searching for arabic tweets, and translate them. She may use arabic tweets and translate them, tweets without RT, and thus having everything from confirmed to unconfirmed tweets.

here is some longstanding worker demands, arising from the privatisation of State assets from 2008...

Improving the democratic environment and conditions of civil rights by amending the laws of association and the laws of political rights to allow citizens to exercise their rights to participation, association, assembly, without the tutelage of government and to ensure representation of all classes of people and classes in the formation and management of policies and programs and monitoring the application of such policies and to stop the rampant corruption in state institutions and to stop wasting in the management of our resources and stresses that this will not only be applying the principle of free circulation of elective power of all state institutions and the abolition of emergency law and the release of all detainees and to ensure that all civil and political rights of citizens in Egypt.

My friend told me the story because I can't read arabic - was in the local newspapers. I guess there must be something to this story. But funny how Alaa, the top Mafia guy, accuses Gamal. After all, Alaa is the older son and she should have been the successor, but he had his hands dirty from too much BS he did in the past. Course his younger brother learned from big brother and father, except he wasn't as smart as the egyptian people, buaaahaaaaa. Serves them right...really, after I heard about the evil crimes they committed, killing their OWN people, staging the church attack in Alexandria, and all the thugs and criminals he unleashed on us during the weekend of Jan. 28, he should be hung in Tahrir Square along with the rest of the gang.
I hope his father lives and stays in Egypt long enough for the new government to be in place so he can see how much better off this country is without him.

I disagree with both these demands. Some political prisoners were freed - there's a youtube video just search for political prisoners being freed in Egypt. And they have so many issues on their plate now, like the security and stability of the country, writing a new constitution, I think figuring out where and who the political prisoners are can wait a couple of months.
And second, although I hate the emergency law too, but I think now with still so many released criminals unaccounted for and some possible Mubarak or old Regime loyalists running around who might want to sabotage or cause harm, keep it in place until a constitution is in place, civil government and parliament formed and the country is stable and secure. But that's just my opinion.

Ok, I've held off since I was roundly shouted down in the chat area but now it's time for some sober reflection:

The military is seizing control, suspending the constitution, dissolving the parliament and refusing to move swiftly to hold elections. In other words, it's a classic military coup.

ALL that the protesters have accomplished is to throw out two old men (one dying of cancer) and replace them with the establishment military elite.

Keep in mind Mubarak came from the military and took power in a coup. The military was the root source of his power and the power structure that runs Egypt's military is firmly in control.

The civilian power structures have been purged. Has the secret police (aka thugs) been purged as well? No?

The cynic in me says we're just seeing a new military junta forming and consolidating power just a Mubarak did 30 years ago.

When it comes to cynicism, I am definitely with you. And this is why I did not get as exuberant as many of my friends here. (BTW, I just posted both of your articles on the permanent article page). Here are the things that have been worrying me:

The Global Elite [NWO/PTB/Bankster Cartel/whatever you want to call them] thrives on conflict/warfare and on suppressing populations. It's what they do. The American government (totally under the control of NWO) had a heads up on this revolution and was able to meet with top Egyptian military before things started to role. Mubarak had already disappointed the NWO in several respects and was not going to stay quiet this time if they went after Iran.

The revolution itself went much longer than it should have. The military could have done their thing at any point. Why didn't they? Was it to take their time so that they could identify potential "trouble makers?"

For me, these are all significant but under-reported aspects to this whole revolution.

And those seem to me to be very huge demands. The situation with the unions and strikes/demonstrations is also problematic.
