Re: Egypt Rolling Updates Fri 11 Feb
Does anyone else feel this is stagnating? Without any push towards the palace, challenging military authority, it seems as though they will be stuck at a stalemate.

That seems strange. They also "confirmed" that last week, and he was never there. It would be very easy for a guard to say that he is there. IMO this is all part of the confusion and propaganda this regime is known for.

just speaking to a reporter on the ground on MSN. He says that the Egyptian people may need an exorcist to finally rid themselves of Mubarak.

Janey, do you have a sense of who the protestors want to lead them after they bring the Gov't down? Do they want the Google guy or the good army guys??? I don't think it's in their best interests to have a military-type Gov't, but hey it's their show

there seems to be no clear choice of leader. A lot want the google bloke to step in and work in a coalition with the military to lead to fair elections.
The one general consensus is that El Baradei seems to have blown his chances

WASHINGTON—The defiant tone taken by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak—and widespread confusion about the meaning of his speech—had White House officials stumbling for their next step in a crisis that was spinning out of their control.

Believe it or not if they called in a proper exorcist that would do the job but they would have to do sillyman because he is the problem.
I wonder if the Popes chief exorcist is on call lol

Good. He would have been a poor choice, and I never liked him. Just another stooge, if you ask me.

Just got back from the school run and it's lovely to see the sailors giving out food to protesters in Alexandria but sad that nothing is moving forwards.

Strawberry, watch AJE. This has been shown for over the past hour.. CNN is extremely late on reporting any relevant news.

Thanx Janey, & BB has commented that lack of a leader is going to start to hinder the movement. Hmmm. So much energy these people have to change their lives. They absolutely MUST seize the day, TODAY. Can't wait for Babs to hear what's going on in the street(bitting nails) Do we have a nail bitting smiley?

All U.S. media has been pathetic in their coverage of this historic event. Quite pitiful.

I think US people needs to demand Aljazeera to start broadcast in US for balancing the media

Re: Egypt Rolling Updates Fri 11 Feb
Hate to say this.. However, if they don't start forcing their way through the military ranks pushing towards the palace, this is not going to happen. If they think that at day 18, Mubarak is suddenly going to have a change of heart, they have another thing coming.
Mubarak already said last night, he is not leaving, and will be underneath the soil of Egypt when he does.. That should have sent a strong enough message to the people.
