Egypt Rolling Updates Fri 11 Feb

Does anyone else feel this is stagnating? Without any push towards the palace, challenging military authority, it seems as though they will be stuck at a stalemate.

That seems strange. They also "confirmed" that last week, and he was never there. It would be very easy for a guard to say that he is there. IMO this is all part of the confusion and propaganda this regime is known for.

Janey, do you have a sense of who the protestors want to lead them after they bring the Gov't down? Do they want the Google guy or the good army guys??? I don't think it's in their best interests to have a military-type Gov't, but hey it's their show

Good. He would have been a poor choice, and I never liked him. Just another stooge, if you ask me.

Just got back from the school run and it's lovely to see the sailors giving out food to protesters in Alexandria but sad that nothing is moving forwards.

CNN just said that they are getting news of mass demonstrations in Alexandria with a military presence and they handing out food to the people

Thanx Janey, & BB has commented that lack of a leader is going to start to hinder the movement. Hmmm. So much energy these people have to change their lives. They absolutely MUST seize the day, TODAY. Can't wait for Babs to hear what's going on in the street(bitting nails) Do we have a nail bitting smiley?

Hate to say this.. However, if they don't start forcing their way through the military ranks pushing towards the palace, this is not going to happen. If they think that at day 18, Mubarak is suddenly going to have a change of heart, they have another thing coming.

Mubarak already said last night, he is not leaving, and will be underneath the soil of Egypt when he does.. That should have sent a strong enough message to the people.
