One thing that should trouble world leaders is the fact that in all of these protests the military is not, for the most part, following orders to commit atrocities. In many cases the military cracks up under the pressure, many siding with the protesters.

Dictators around the world must be having a hell of time sleeping.

I can't even begin to imagine what is going on in the streets there and how horrifying it must be....God help those people.

the latest I have is that this is now a full warzone, except that they are firing almost everything they have at unarmed civilians.

We are seeing the first descent into civil war as military units are now also firing on each other all over Libya.

It is looking like a scorched earth policy with whole neighbourhoods being subjected to carpet strikes from the air

I think we are witnessing the difference (in response to protests) between a western style dictator, and a middle eastern style dictator.

Egypt= refuse to slaughter unarmed civilians.

Libya= wholesale slaughter of unarmed civilians.

maybe more that khamees troops and other ghaddafi loyal troops are becooming the resistance, or taliban-like ? Sad

Don't think that the people or tribes, or the east /west are divided. they keep saying they are one ever since the beginning of the protests
