Hopefully not, that would be a foolish move. The US would be wise to stay out of this mess. Think about it. If the middle east explodes and the US gets heavily involved, this will open the back door for China. As strong as the US is, they would not be able to withstand two major theatres of war without the assistance of Russia, and this time it will not be a recreation of WW2, as Russia is eager to stab the US in the back ever since the collapse of the soviet union.
Strategically the M-E is essentially a trap for US interests. To elaborate further, war needs funding. You don't simply bomb countries without the means to do so. As Ron Paul has stated before (and he is very correct in stating this), US foreign influence has reached the point of critical mass, and can no longer be maintained without bankrupting the nation.
As much as it pains me to think of the consequences of monetary reform (also needed here in Canada as well, we are one and the same), deep budgetary cuts are required, now, and manufacturing HAS to start coming back to North America. I'm afraid "outsourcing" will be a word used frequently in history books, as what led to the collapse of western society.
The challenge? China is creating cheap products, and their workers earn pennies on the dollar. The end-game is pulling the plug on developing China, or HEAVILY taxing raw material exports to China (which they rely on to maintain production), to essentially drive their manufacturing costs through the roof until we can then compete again in manufacturing. Economic warfare? Yes. Necessary? I think so.

Hague - requests all nationals and UK companies with Libyan representation to contact UK Govt urgently.
Situation in Libya very different to Egypt and Tunisia - civil strife with breakdown of law and order

That could get nasty, but it's probably necessary.

If they could prove that then the UK (and indeed the US) would probably be justified in using force, even though the event happened in 1988.

Time to break some balls my fellow brits . British SAS incoming. Special forces teams train for these types of events for a lifetime.
In other news.. Canadian Special Forces (JTF2) were arrested at Tim Hortons LMAO, by local law enforcement when someone called in stating they seen an unmarked truck with what appeared to be heavy weaponry inside. Luckily for the RCMP they already had their coffee, or the outcome could have been much different

In tripoli, the morgues will only release the bodies to family members, if they sign that they were killed by the revolution youth and NOT by mercenaries !

Here's a different link in English:
http://amerpundit.com/2011/02/23/libyan-justice-minister-al-jleil-says-gaddafi-ordered-lockerbie-bombing/
Libyan Justice Minister Mustafa Mohamed Abud Al Jeleil on Wednesday told a Swedish newspaper that Colonel Muammar al-Gaddafi ordered the 1988 Lockerbie bombing, which killed 270 people.
Al-Jleil told Stockholm-based newspaper Expressen that Gaddafi was the person who gave the order to bomb Pan Am Flight 103, a daily scheduled transatlantic flight from London Heathrow Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
"I have evidence that Gaddafi ordered the Lockerbie bombing," Al-Jleil was cited as saying by Expressen. "To hide this, he did everything in his power to get Megrahi back from Scotland."
Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was convicted of being behind the Lockerbie bombing, but was released in 2009 on compassionate grounds and returned to Libya.

They dumped the plane rather than bomb people and did not want to go back to the base where they would be in trouble for not following orders.

We have received confirmation from the ground that the city of Zwaara is now in the hands of the protesters and under their control. This is a very strategic location as it is approximately 58km away from the Libyan Tunisian border.
